Repeat prescriptions

You have a number of options for requesting a repeat prescription:

  • Order online, contact reception for details on how to register
  • Tick the box(es) on Part B (right-hand side) of the prescription form and return it to the Surgery

We do not accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone. This is because it can be unsafe to do so.

Please note that this repeat system is only meant to cover those items which you are issued as repeat prescriptions. It cannot be used for items which you receive infrequently.

We will have repeat prescriptions ready for collection 24 hours after receiving the request for them.

Your chosen pharmacy will require additional time to prepare and dispense your medications. Please check with your pharmacy for further details.

From 2nd September 2019, The NHS, across County Durham and the Tees Valley, is making changes to the way you might  currently order your repeat prescriptions.

Your community pharmacy will no longer be able to order your repeat medication, but you will be able to order your repeat medication directly with the practice by using the repeat ordering slip or via our existing online service.

There is nothing to worry about – you will still receive the medication you need.

Please note that to access the online service for prescription ordering, you must present at reception with two forms of identification, including one photo ID and one with a current address from a financial institution (utility bills are not acceptable).
