First Contact Podiatry

This service is only for patients who are not under any external podiatry team an active recall. Patients must be 18 years and over to access the service.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Skin conditions: Foot ulcers (including diabetics), callus and corns, verrucae and rashes affecting the foot area.
  • Infections: Bacterial and fungal skin infections e.g athletes’ foot/local infections, osteomyelitis
  • Nail conditions: Any toenail problem e.g fungal infections; acute ingrown toenails, paronychia, pathological nails, presence of bleeding, any open wound, any discolouration of nail or surrounding skin.
  • Joint/Biomechanics and soft tissue: Suspected Charcot arthropathy, gout, heel pain/plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia /pain in ball of foot, soft tissue injuries – sprains and strains, structural deformities, any foot ankle pain.
